You do not need to have all the answers right now. The information below is here to gently guide you, at your own pace.
β€ What should I do if someone dies?
If someone has died, take a moment to pause.
You do not need to do everything at once.
If the death was expected, a doctor or nurse will guide
you on the next steps. If it was unexpected, emergency services may need to be contacted.
When you
feel ready, you can contact us at any time, day or night. We will calmly guide you through what
happens next.
β€ Do I need to contact anyone straight away?
Not always. In many situations,
there is no immediate rush.
The most important thing is to ensure the death has been confirmed by
the appropriate professional.
Once this has happened, you can contact us when you feel able.
β€ What happens next?
After a death, there are a few practical steps such as
bringing your loved one into our care, registering the death, and arranging the funeral.
We will
explain each step gently and clearly, taking things at a pace that feels right for you.
β€ What if I donβt know what the person wanted?
Many families worry about this,
and it is very common.
You do not need to have all the answers. We can help you talk through what
feels most fitting.
β€ Is it normal to feel overwhelmed?
Yes. Grief affects everyone
differently.
Feeling overwhelmed, numb or unsure is completely natural.
You can take your time,
ask questions more than once, and move at your own pace.
β€ Can children attend a funeral?
Many families choose for children to attend,
while others prefer not to.
There is no single right answer β only what feels right for your
family.
β€ What if Iβm not ready to speak yet?
Thatβs
completely okay.
This website is here to provide reassurance until you feel ready.
When you do,
we will be here to listen.
